Kvernufoss is fairly close to Skogafoss, but with very few visitors. It lies in this beautiful canyon and you can walk behind the falls as you can see here. I captured several images and blended them together to get this shot. I really like how it feel like you are looking out into this amazing scene.
In 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone in that plane survived. Later it turned out that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. To get there it takes a bit of a hike, but it was an interesting subject to shoot.
The Dyrhólaey Light House is pearched up on these cliffs with excellent views. In the summer there are also lots of puffins in this cliffs, but by the time we arrive they had already left.
