In 1973 a United States Navy DC plane ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beach at Sólheimasandur, in the South Coast of Iceland. Fortunately, everyone in that plane survived. Later it turned out that the pilot had simply switched over to the wrong fuel tank. To get there it takes a bit of a hike, but it was an interesting subject to shoot.
The Dyrhólaey Light House is pearched up on these cliffs with excellent views. In the summer there are also lots of puffins in this cliffs, but by the time we arrive they had already left.
Looking towards Reynisdrangar off in the distance. The black sand beaches curls away. I liked the long exposure look as it captured the white along the beachline.
