Heading to Iowa
A fun perspective shot. You can vaguely make out the old ruins of the first road bridge over the Missouri river that was placed by this Interstate in 1966.
Ak-Sar-Ben Bridge Ruins
The Ak-Sar-Ben Bridge was built in 1888. It was the first road bridge to cross the Missouri River. It was replaced by the Interstate in 1966 and demolished in 1968. This is all that remains.
The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge has a snake like design. Took this from underneath as it headed over to Iowa. I thought it was a fun perspective.
Walking to Omaha
The new landmark bridge over the Missouri River. Leading from Iowa to Nebraska. On this night it heads right into the sunset.
The golden sunset lights up the Omaha skyline as it sits behind the Missouri River. Taken from the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.
Fire it Up
The sky was on fire. Taken from the Iowa side fo the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. A popular place on a nice night like this one.
Acrross the Mighty Mo
From the Iowa side, a narrow slice of the Omaha skyline. I liked how this inlet on the Missouri River ledito the reflection of downtown.
Turning into the Blue
Named after a former senator, the pedestrian bridge was opened in 2008 to serve as a landmark. I took this from the Nebraska side as night was approaching. Getting one of the towers as the bridge twists into Iowa.
Road to Omaha
Omaha is well known for hosting the College World Series. This statue lies out front to celebrate all it takes.
